About My Case FAQ

What’s my case worth?
This depends on a number of factors, such as the severity and duration of your injury, the amount of medical treatment, the amount of your medical bills and lost wages, and whether the injury will affect your future earnings.  It also depends on subtle factors, such as how well your doctor documented your pain and suffering, the insurance company involved, the nature of the accident, and how a jury would likely view your claim.

We will work hard to maximize the value of your case.

How long will it take?
It is unwise to settle a personal injury claim until you have finished your medical treatment, or reached Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI).  You certainly do not want to settle your claim too quickly, and then learn that your condition is much worse than initially thought.

Once MMI is reached, most claims are settled within 3-6 months.  Serious injury claims, or wrongful death claims, usually take longer.  If we cannot settle your case pre-suit, we will talk with you about the pros and cons of litigating your case.  Generally, litigation takes another 1-2 years, depending on the Court’s trial docket, the schedules of the involved attorneys, and other factors that sometimes cannot be controlled (i.e. the availability of your doctor to testify, etc).  Appeals may follow.

We will work your case hard, and aim for a prompt and fair resolution.
