NBA star scores in Legal Malpractice case.Jul 1st, 2010
July 1, 2010 -- The legal malpractice lawsuit arose from a deal to purchase a 2002 Gulfstream jet which was to be an income-generating asset through charters. Pippen wound up owing much more than he invested, after he unknowingly signed a large bank note on the jet. He then sued his attorneys for legal malpractice, alleging bad advice and conflict of interest. A jury awarded $2M -- far less than the $8M claimed -- finding Pippen to be partly responsible for the failed transaction.
